Life sometimes tests us in the most unimaginable ways โ but true strength is revealed when we decide to rise again. The story of Arunima Sinha is one such heart-touching and deeply inspiring tale that reminds us that no matter how dark the night, the sun always rises.
Born on 20th July 1989 in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, Arunima was a national-level volleyball player with big dreams of serving the nation in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). But destiny had a different plan. In April 2011, while traveling from Lucknow to Delhi for her CISF exam, she was attacked by thieves on a moving train. When she refused to hand over her belongings, they pushed her out of the train, and she tragically fell onto the adjacent track โ where another train passed by, crushing her leg.

Doctors had to amputate her left leg below the knee, and her future as an athlete seemed shattered. But instead of living as a victim, Arunima made a promise to herself โ if life had taken one leg, she would prove her worth with the other. While recovering in the hospital, she decided to do something no one believed she could โ climb Mount Everest.

Arunima trained relentlessly, learning mountaineering with a prosthetic leg. Her courage and determination knew no bounds. And finally, on May 21, 2013, just two years after her accident, she became the first female amputee in the world to conquer Mount Everest.
Her success didnโt just make headlines; it inspired millions across the globe. Arunima later received the Padma Shri Award and continues to motivate others through her speeches and her book โBorn Again on the Mountain.โ
Today, she runs a foundation to help underprivileged and differently-abled people, turning her pain into purpose.
Arunima Sinhaโs story is a living example of resilience โ a reminder that no fall is final unless you refuse to rise.
