God’s Plan Is Greater Than Ours – A Real Story of Faith and Hope

Life doesn’t always go the way we plan. We dream, we prepare, and we try to control every outcome — but sometimes, life takes a turn that leaves us questioning everything. Yet, when we look back, we realize that God’s plan was far better than anything we imagined.

This is the heartfelt story of Arun Mehta, a young man from Pune, India, whose life proved that God’s timing and purpose are always perfect.

The Dream That Shattered

Arun was passionate about cricket since childhood. Every morning, he woke up before sunrise to practice, hoping to one day wear the Indian jersey. His parents supported him completely, and his coach believed he had real potential. But just when Arun was about to play for the state team, tragedy struck — he suffered a severe shoulder injury during training.

The doctors told him he might never play professionally again. His dreams were shattered. He locked himself in his room for weeks, asking God “Why me? Why now?” He felt his life had lost meaning.

When Pain Turned Into Purpose

One day, his mother convinced him to volunteer at a local orphanage. There, he met children who had nothing — no parents, no support, no dreams. Seeing their smiles despite hardship touched Arun deeply. He began teaching them cricket, using his knowledge to give them hope. Slowly, he found peace.

Months turned into years, and his small act of kindness grew into something bigger. With the help of donors and well-wishers, Arun started his own free sports academy for underprivileged children. Today, many of his students play at district and state levels.

When asked if he regrets losing his dream,

Arun says with a smile, “If my dream had come true, I would have helped myself. But God’s plan helped me change many lives.”

Moral of the Story

Sometimes, when doors close, it’s not the end — it’s God redirecting us to something greater. Our plans may be small, but His plans are infinite and perfect in their timing.
